Review: Drupal 6 Attachment Views by J. Ayen Green

This is the best book I've reviewed for Drupal yet! This is a book that is bigger than the title gives it. Drupal 6 Attachment Views by J. Ayen Green will extend your Drupal foo to at least blue belt!

Everyone knows you pretty much need Views in Drupal to do anything decent but the term 'attachment' in views is a bit vague to know what to do with at first. In fact, I've never used them because I didn't really understand (a) how to use them and (b) why they are useful. And thats a real shame, because as it turns out, attachment views can really open up development options for your projects. They can same you time, make you write less code and best of all, if you know views, there is a rather small learning hump.

I should make a note however, if you don't know PHP, or haven't used the Drupal Views module before you most likely won't understand this book. The contents, I found, were for more experienced developers. Which, in my opinion, is great! And about time! I was beginning to thing advanced Drupal learning was becoming extinct.

In contrast to the last book I reviewed, this was truely a good read, I got a lot from the book and I'm sure you will too!
